Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment as our receptionists will need to check you in and a new patient registration form will need to be completed.
For new patients, 30 minutes is allocated for the consultation. This generally allows sufficient time to discuss the condition, perform an examination, and review any relevant investigations. In some instances, complex conditions require a longer consultation or can unexpectedly run late. At times a second appointment is useful to discuss additional aspects of your care or surgery in more detail.
Bringing along a family member or friend can be very useful to help recall the information discussed. If anything remains unclear after the consultation or you have further questions, feel free to contact us and make an additional appointment to discuss your condition further.
Your surgeon will correspond with your referring doctor and make any appropriate referrals following your consultation.
Please notify Total Upper GI Surgery as early as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment.
At Total Upper GI Surgery we provide comprehensive 24 hour care for our patients. Our surgeons are available for urgent care of all our patients and they or their colleagues can be contacted via pager at all times. Please ask at reception staff for further details.
In the event of an emergency please call an ambulance or attend your local emergency department.
